Crochet – I’m officially hooked… I learned it late last year and now I’m rarely letting 24hours pass without picking up the old hook ‘n’ loop.
I’ve made fingerless gloves, baby blankets, baby booties, christmas tree decorations and most recently, a blanket for my friend Suzy… and I’ve got my eye on about a million more things I want to make by the end of the year.
And it’s not just making things that’s rewarding. It’s a stress-relief and stops me snacking from boredom. I have a close-knit group of friends who come over for crochet nights which inevitably end up in laughing so hard we cry. It’s good for my creativity, my sense of well-being and my friendships. You can’t ask for much more from a ball of wool and a hook!
Here are some photos of my biggest crochet project to-date… A flat-warming blanket for Suzy.
